We went here when there was too long a wait at Maxwell's Tavern down the street. Service was quick and friendly and food prepared fresh. The fish and chips were quite good, but the fish portion was a bit small. It was a good experience and a welcoming ambiance

My son loves the shepherds pie. The pub like environment is still family friendly and Waxhaw is super cute.

Service was moderate, people were nice and sweat but just didn't really interact with us a lot, but it's not a complaining, maybe just because they were busy. Food was good, we had the corn beef and Irish sausage. They were tasty.

I went here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the Ruben rolls. The sauce that comes with it is very yummy as well! I also had fish and fries. The fish was nicely battered and crispy but could have used a little more seasoning. The service was friendly and quick. The ambiance was very cozy as the seating was fairly close. I will be back to try other items.

Great pub! Excellent service with authentic menu options. We have had lunch in the dining area as well as dinner at the bar. Both are great. Fish and chips is a favorite and for good reason. The fish is perfectly battered and crispy. Fries are well seasoned. Tartar sauce is tangy and creamy. Malt vinegar is available as well as ketchup. The special seasoning on the burger is very special. The burger was perfectly cooked to medium as ordered and piping hot. Onion rings are surprisingly awesome. My husband didn't offer to share- and he is usually quick to share. I stole one and it was worth the glare I got! Lots of beverage options including a winter cocktail menu. They also do an excellent job on layered drafts. Our favorite is the snakebite - guiness and cider. Smithwicks on draft, also a great choice. Staff is friendly and quick to clear tables and plates. Even when it's very busy, waiting patrons are not waiting very long.

It has been ALONG time since coming to Waxhaw, so we were enjoying walking downtown (highly recommend too !). We decided we wanted to try Mary O'Neill's and are SO HAPPY we did. We split two entrees, Southern Stout Burger with onion rings and the The Wolfhound Burger with sweet potatoe fries. Both burgers were fabulous with taste, temperature and consistent with description. The Goat Cheese on the Wolfhound and the BBQ sauce on the Stout were such great compliments to each dish. The sides were good, but of course just a side note to the prize entree. The ambiance was terrific, and it really seemed like a neighborly GOTO bar and restaurant. Our service was spectacular... hats off and MUGS UP to AUDREY for such HOSPITALITY ! Thank you !!

Dining with friends at this southern inspired Irish pub restaurant, cozy atmosphere, good attentive service, nice menu featuring traditional Irish and southern cuisine. We ordered: shepards pie, drunken salmon that came with sautéed zucchini, yellow squash and cherry tomatoes, and colcannon, reuben sandwich with fries , large chefs salad and a Guiness beer. Food came out plated nice, hot foods hot, good portions, and reasonable prices. Everyone enjoyed their food and would return again.

Met a few friends of many moons who reside close or in Charlotte. Their choice for tall tales of youth or as Life finds each. Waxhaw itself was ready decorated for its citizenry and/or visitors to celebrate a soon "Merry Christmas" Mary O'Neills was spot on, alas a dram of Irish whiskey (Jameison) with a chosen Guinness or Smithwicks because we can. 4-Fish and chips (fries) and 1-Reuben...I must say the fried cod was delish and who can refuse fresh fried potato slices....not a crumb on any plate...our server (dont remember her name) was excellent and not bashful to jump into the conversation of the table. An AWESOME day to see friends and a new spot to share with others...Trust me Yelpers....support this local business.

This is a nice Irish pub style restaurant. During my visit the town had their Halloween event and parking was very bad. Inside there was plenty of room to seat us right away. Rugby was playing on the TV's with a bunch of fans watching. I ordered the bangers and mash which I forgot to take a photo of. Tasted very good though. The fish and chips weren't traditional chips but just fries. I'd return again.
